Fleet of modern buses boosts Bukidnon's transport system

Balistoy MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)— The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-10 took a significant step forward in modernizing the transportation system by introducing 15 modern public utility vehicles (PUVs) in the first fleet of the trendy transport scene in Bukidnon province. According to LTFRB-10 Regional Director Aminoden Allan Guro, the new PUVs are equipped with a global positioning system (GPS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, television, and a cashless fare through Automatic Fare Collection System server, which form part of the government’s public utility vehicles modernization program (PUVMP). "Here in Bukidnon, our decades-old vehicles need to be upgraded so that our passengers can enjoy comfortable, safe, and reliable public transportation. Those dilapidated and old jeeps, which are more than 15 years old—some have even reached 30 years—must be replaced,” Guro said during the PUV

411 Bukidnon workers get P1.6M from DOLE’s TUPAD program

MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)-- Four hundred eleven disadvantaged/displaced workers in Maramag, Bukidnon  recently  received a total of P1.6M in government salaries through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. DOLE  10- Bukidnon Field Office   Provincial Director Raul Valmores  said each beneficiary received P3,900 as payment for their 10-day work. He said the 411 beneficiaries are from Barangays San Miguel, North Poblacion, South Poblacion, Kuya, Danggawan, Panadtalan, Colambugon, Panalsalan, Dologon, Base Camp, Camp-1, Anahawon, and Bayabason, all in Maramag municipality. “ TUPAD aims to improve the quality of workers’ physical living conditions while contributing to the communities' welfare which provides emergency employment for displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers,” Valmores said. LGU Sumilao gets P2M Kadiwa grant from DA-10

SUMILO, Bukidnon (PIA)--To ensure the availability and accessibility of food commodities, the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-10 handed out the Certificate of Turnover of the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Financial Grant worth P2 million to the Local Government of Sumilao, Bukidnon, at the agency compound. The fund is part of the total project cost of P2.5 million, of which DA-10 provided 80% and LGU Sumilao counterparts 20%, totaling P500,000. MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)--To capacitate the Local Government Unit in managing incidents in an organized and well-coordinated manner during disasters, the Office of Civil Defense in Region 10 (OCD-10) and Malaybalay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) recently gathered about 40 participants from provincial and national government agencies, local government units, and law enforcers for a three-day intensive training on management of Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Jessie Jim A. Fajardo, CADRE, OCD-10, said the training is critical in managing emergencies and disasters where policies, decision-making, and coordination with other agencies are required. PRDP trains LGU monitoring teams for Buk’n sub-projects

VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project  in Region  10 (DA-PRDP 10) and the Project Support Office Mindanao (PSO Mindanao)  conducted  a Citizens Monitoring Team (CMT) training for local government units (LGUs) in Bukidnon  from January 31 to February 3. Joseph Rico, PSO Mindanao monitoring and evaluation unit head, said the training enables LGUs, including citizens and beneficiaries, to learn the process and mechanisms of monitoring various sub-projects  (SPs) . He emphasized that the CMT training will ensure proper SPs implementation following the policies and guidelines set by the World Bank. MALAYBALAY CITY, (PIA)--The 260 disadvantaged  and  displaced workers of Don Carlos municipality  received a total of  P1,014,000  in  salaries thru the Department of Labor and Employment ’s  (DOLE- 10 ) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. NTC leads SIM registration in remote Bukidnon villages

PANGANTUCAN, Bukidnon (PIA)--Over  3 00 villagers, mainly from the town's outlying areas, registered their SIM cards on January 25 in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, as the National Telecommunications Commission in Region 10 (NTC-10), in partnership with Globe, Smart, and DITO telcos, launched the Facilitated Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration. Four NPA rebels yield, firearms surrendered

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon  (PIA) -- Four members of Platoon IPAD, Sub Regional Command 5, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee  (NCMRC)  surrendered to the First Special Forces Battalion (1SFB), January 23, along with two M16A1 assault rifles and two AK47 assault rifles. The successful surrender of said rebels is due to a series of precise special operations carried out by the 1st Special Forces Battalion (1SFB), which led to information on the locations of enemy arms caches. Armed with v ital  information, the intelligence team of the 3rd Special Forces Company conducted an operation that led to the discovery of an enemy arms cache containing an M16A1 Assault Rifle, twenty long Magazine Assembly, and rounds of ammunition at Sitio Salsalan, Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon. In a follow-up operation the following morning, another weapons cache was discovered, this time containing two AK47 Assault Rifles, an M16A1 Assault Rifle, and five short Magazine Assemblies.
