Tribal chieftains name Bukidnon governor as 'Datu Salakawan'

  MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (PIA)— Chieftains of Bukidnon province’s  seven tribes  named  Gov ernor  Rogelio Neil P. Roque as "Datu Salakawan" during the Indigenous Peoples Summit  here,  November 15. Adelina "Bae Inatlawan" Tarino, the Baylan  ( spiritual chieftain )  of the Bukidnon tribe , led the conferment ritual  at the Folk Arts Theater, Kaamulan Park, Malaybalay City . The name "Salakawan" comes from the Higaonon language, which means "dynamic and master of everything," according to the 'Elders and Bae.' In his message, Gov .  Roque asked the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community to  help  him in maintaining tribal unity and achieving  abundance  and peace. “ The blood of my past, now made present, will guide me into the future. PRDP 10 opens P11M cacao facility in Kadingilan town

KADINGILAN, Bukidnon (PIA) — A full-functioning cacao facility is ready to serve Bukidnon s  as the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA-PRDP 10) turns over the machinery to the Balaoro Farmers Association (BAFA) on November 18 , here. The project is in support of the Cacao Processing and Marketing sub-project with a total project cost of P10,905,947.82 comprising  a  roasting machine, a crusher machine, and  a  storing machine.  Carlene C. 65 Hedcor scholars in Bukidnon finish TESDA courses

  MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon (PIA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) together with the Manolo Fortich Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held its first-ever graduation rites since the onset of the pandemic, honoring 130 TESDA scholars in a simple ceremony. Among the 130 graduates ,  65  are scholars of Aboitiz Foundation and Hedcor . Of the 65 scholar-graduates, 25  residents from Barangay Santiago  completed a one-month Certificate in Bamboo Production NC II course, while 40 Guilang-Guilang youths completed a three-month Certificate in Masonry NC II and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II course. Bamboo Production NC II graduates were equipped with knowledge of bamboo nursery operations and establishing a bamboo farm ,  safety measures, and operating simple equipment utilizing various tools. DILG-Buk’n hosts regional forum, guides LGUs to full devolution

  MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)—The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bukidnon hosted a regional forum to synchronize Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs) between national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) in view of the Mandanas-Garcia Supreme Court ruling.   Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla, DILG Bukidnon provincial director, said that while the transition towards full devolution may be challenging, it presents an opportunity for the government and LGUs to elevate their development strategies and find innovative ways to further serve the interests of their communities and constituents.   “This forum is designed to become an avenue for local government units to engage with national government agencies to assist the LGUs in their journey towards full devolution,” she said.   Abadilla also urged the LGUs to revisit their local development plans and see how these align with the national and regional directions, particularly on the devolved functions, servic
