403rd Brigade has new commander
MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)—Colonel Ted B. Dumosmog relinquished duties as the commander of the Philippine Army’s 403rd Brigade to Colonel Michele B. Anayron Jr., during the change of command ceremony here, January 23.
A change of command is a military tradition that represents a transfer of authority and responsibility for a unit or command.
The history, tradition, and accomplishments of the command are embodied in the colors. The passing of colors from an outgoing to an incoming commander represents keeping trust and leadership, as well as soldiers' allegiance to their unit's commander.
Major General Wilbur C. Mamawag, 4th Infantry Division commander, led the ceremony. He commended Col. Dumosmog for his exceptional leadership and accomplishments during his three-month stint with the 403rd Brigade.
"Col. Ted Dumosmog led the 403rd Brigade to unprecedented combat and non-combat accomplishments. The brigade sustained focused military operations, community support programs, and law enforcement support operations, resulting in tremendous favorable results," Mamawag said.
Colonel Ted B. Dumosmog, the 403rd Brigade's outgoing commander, thanked all stakeholders for their unwavering support.
“I would like to extend my utmost appreciation to all our partner stakeholders for their generous sharing of time, resources, and expertise as we work together to defeat our common enemy," he said.
Colonel Michele B. Anayron Jr., the new commander, said he received his order from AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Andres C. Centino on Saturday night.
“In our brief conversation with General Centino he said ‘Congratulations Mitch, tapusin mo ang laban diyan.’ Very brief but specific order. Same order I got from my Joint Task Force Diamond Commander Major General Mamawag. My first impression of the marching order I got was ‘Bira’ (let's do this) let us continue our focused military operations to totally defeat the remaining NPA groups.” Anayron said.
