VALENCIA CITY (PIA)—The Social Security System (SSS) Valencia Branch served notices to eight establishments in Valencia and Malaybalay City to comply with their employees’ contributions as part of the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign.
Simon Jude Q. Obut, SSS Valencia branch head, explained in a press conference on November 8 that the agency is reaching out to delinquent employers to inform them of their outstanding contributions and offer solutions like the Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management and Restructuring Program (CPCoDe MRP).
“The RACE program is an effort to bridge gaps in contribution compliance, benefiting employees and reinforcing the values of accountability and mutual responsibility. We are just reminding the pre-selected establishments of their obligation under the Social Security Act of 2018 to pay their workers' contributions,” Obut said.
While many have received billing letters, 18 face legal action for persistent non-compliance, and 20 establishments have opted for the SSS installment scheme to settle their liabilities.
Obut emphasized that holding employers accountable is a priority in the mission of SSS to protect workers’ rights.
"Our Account Officers regularly visit establishments to ensure employers register their employees and pay the correct contributions," he clarified.
The RACE program enables the SSS to enforce employer compliance while offering structured solutions to fulfill statutory obligations.
The SSS installment scheme helps struggling businesses manage their dues and stay compliant, ensuring employees retain access to essential benefits for a more secure and equitable future. (BGE/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
