59 farmers get livestock via SBDP’s animal dispersal project

CABANGLASAN, Bukidnon (PIA)—Fifty-nine farmers from Barangay Canangaan, Cabanglasan in Bukidnon received 87 livestock heads comprising goats and horses, including 177 sacks of inorganic fertilizer, as livelihood assistance under the Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).

Cabanglasan Municipal Mayor Lolita Obsioma said the agricultural inputs were distributed on November 15 as part of the ceremonial turnover of "Assistance to Farmers-Component III (provision of goats and horses)."

She said the continuing animal dispersal program aims to eradicate extreme poverty by providing income-generating opportunities to disadvantaged families.

(We only have one heartfelt request: Don't forgo what the government has given you. Take proper care of it because the future of our children is not in the grip of another government. It is right here in front of you and will always provide the people with the best service possible),” the mayor said.

The said project component was solely chosen by the three (3) farmers’ associations in Barangay Canangaan during the engagement of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Core Team led by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cabanglasan in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The successful turnover was made easy through the active implementation of the Bukidnon Provincial Agriculture office in coordination with DILG Bukidnon and Cabanglasan LGU.

The SBDP is a start-up program under former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's Executive Order No. 70 or the whole-of-nation approach that created the National Task Force in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), which aims to deliver basic services to attain sustainable peace in historically insurgency-affected communities. (DILG-Bukidnon/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
