BukSU wins 1st prize in DTI-Bukidnon consumer quiz

Cleopas    MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)--Bukidnon State University-Secondary School Laboratory student topped the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bukidnon '2023 Provincial Consumer Quiz' on October 17 at Uno Business Hotel, Valencia City.    Jovanna Dawne Candelasa, Grade 10, got first place and bested 40 students from various public and private schools across Bukidnon.   Mary Joie Anion, a Grade 10 student from Manolo Fortich National High School, won second, while Mia Maxine Abarabar, also a Grade 10 student from Bukidnon State University-Secondary School Laboratory, got third place.   The top three winners from Bukidnon will compete against the top three prizewinners from other provinces in Region 10 in the upcoming Regional Consumer Quiz on October 23 at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.   Provincial Director Famelah Racquel Villanueva of DTI-Bukidnon emphasized that this year's Consumer Welfare Month theme, "GenS: Generation S

Top female NPA leader yields to Army's 8IB in Bukidnon

  IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon (PIA)--Top New People's Army (NPA) commander Chrislyn Mission Balamad, alias June, Ising, Ka-Nur, and Al, operating in Western Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao, recently surrendered to the Army's 8th Infantry Battalion of the 403rd Infantry Brigade.    Balamad, 30, operated with the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) as the Secretary of Sub-Regional Committee-V (SRC-5).    She revealed she was an active League of Filipino Students member at Mindanao State University-Main Campus in Marawi City at 18. She was about to graduate when the terrorist group recruited her, spending nearly 12 years with the rebel movement.   The surrendering rebel leader disclosed that the morale of the party committee and operational command had significantly deteriorated due to the mass surrenders within their ranks due to the implementation of the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

DTI updates media on EO 39, fair trade laws in CWM kickoff

Achacoso   MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)--To keep the media, consumers, and entrepreneurs updated on fair trade laws, including Executive Order No. 39 (EO 39), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Bukidnon held early this week a media briefing cum press conference to mark the Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) celebration in the country.   Provincial Director Famelah Racquel Villanueva of DTI-Bukidnon reported that 303 micro rice retailers in Bukidnon have each received a one-time subsidy of P15,000 through the Sustainable Livelihood Program-Economic Relief Subsidy (SLP-ERS).   She said the Department of Social Welfare and Development has disbursed over P4.5 million in cash assistance to rice retailers here who have been affected by Executive Order No. 39 issued by the President.   Under EO 39, the mandated price ceiling on regular milled rice is set at P41 per kilogram, while the well-milled rice is P45. ATI Normin joins swine multiplier farm inauguration in Bukidnon

  CABANGLASAN, Bukidnon (PIA)--The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI RTC)-10 recently joined the blessing and inauguration of the 60-sow level Swine Multiplier and Technology Demonstration Farm constructed at Barangay Lambagan, Cabanglasan, here. The said P10-million project is part of the Department of Agriculture (DA) interventions under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) of the DA-National Livestock Program to improve swine production and to ensure that it would be available and accessible to the local farmers in the country.
