ATI Normin joins swine multiplier farm inauguration in Bukidnon
CABANGLASAN, Bukidnon (PIA)--The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI RTC)-10 recently joined the blessing and inauguration of the 60-sow level Swine Multiplier and Technology Demonstration Farm constructed at Barangay Lambagan, Cabanglasan, here.
The said P10-million project is part of the Department of Agriculture (DA) interventions under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) of the DA-National Livestock Program to improve swine production and to ensure that it would be available and accessible to the local farmers in the country.
ATI-RTC-10 spearheaded the project implementation in close coordination with the ATI-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH), DA-Regional Field Office 10, the Provincial Government of Bukidnon, and the Local Government Unit of Cabanglasan.
Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez expressed her delight and congratulated the Municipality of Cabanglasan for finally establishing the swine multiplier project despite the many challenges faced during its implementation.
“This achievement is a manifestation of the commitment and partnership of the national government, local government units, and officials of the Municipality of Cabanglasan, the private sector, Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) operators, and the local farmers,” Echavez said.
She also hoped that the project would serve its purpose as a source of livelihood for the farmers and ensure that there is safe, healthy, and affordable food for the local public.
Moreover, the Municipal Mayor of Cabanglasan, Lolita N. Bullecer, acknowledged and extended her gratitude for the contributions and support provided to their municipality towards the success of the project.
Meanwhile, OIC Assistant Center Director and National Livestock Program focal person Noemi Beth G. Macario said the center will continue its collaboration with the Municipality of Cabanglasan to conduct a series of training next year for the project beneficiaries.
The program was also enjoined by the DA-10 OIC Provincial Operations Chief of Bukidnon Janet D. Lopez, Bukidnon Provincial Veterinarian Stephen M. Arcayera, DA-RFO 10 Livestock Program Focal Person Jamaica Docdoc, LGU Cabanglasan Municipal Agriculturist Anita L. Macabugto, other municipal and barangay officials, and local farmer-leaders.
